This page contains information about my professional services and business policies.
The counselling relationship requires clearly defined rights and responsibilities for both the therapist and the client, and as a counselling client you have certain rights and responsibilities that are important for you to understand.
There are also legal limitations to those rights that you should be aware of. The counsellor has corresponding responsibilities. These rights and responsibilities are described in the following sections.
Appointments will ordinarily be 50 minutes in duration, once per week at a time mutually agreed upon. As your appointment is scheduled for you on a regular weekly basis, if you have to cancel or reschedule a session, you are required to give me 3 days notice. If you miss a session without cancelling, or cancel with less than 3 days notice, you will be required to pay for the session. However, where available an alternative appointment will be offered to you prior to your next regular session at no extra cost.
You are responsible for coming to your session on time, if you are late your appointment will still need to end on time.
I have policies in place to ensure that I provide my clients with the appropriate standard of clinical and professional governance in accordance with the governing bodies that I subscribe to namely: the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the College for Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
