I am a fully qualified Couples Therapist, and Sex Therapist, or Psychosexual Therapist, working online. I have been working with individuals and couples for over 30 years.
When people come to me for relationship therapy and sex therapy, they are often in crisis. I work with each individual and couple to develop strategies for overcoming the issues that have become the legacy of past traumas. I work with people who are experiencing trouble connecting as a couple both emotionally and sexually. For some this could mean rediscovering a love for each other and reawakening desire, for others it can mean healing and finding a mutual path after infidelity.
I work with a range of issues and approach each with a completely non-judgmental attitude and a compassionate approach. I invite each client to feel secure and safe enough to discuss very personal and painful subjects.
I am also interested in the area of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its impact on couples’ relationships and I have worked extensively with survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
My experience as a therapist and of working with individuals and couples has taught me that every human being is capable of extraordinary things, each individual is capable of reaching inside to find that place from where our most noble deeds and thoughts arise. I believe that change is always possible and that counselling can enable people to shape their future in the way that they want to.
Is ideal for people who have small children or struggle with child care, where they can meet with the counsellor once the children are asleep. It can also work well for couples who are in a long-distance relationship, perhaps living in separate cities or even in different time zones; these meetings would be a three-way conference-type call.
It could be ideal for those who do not live close to the right kind of counsellor, it is a very simple solution to go online and have therapy with a live video link to a specialist couples counsellor. She can support and assist the couple overcome their specific difficulties.
Additionally, it can also be very beneficial for people who are not able to leave home for any reason and is as effective as working in person with a counsellor.
The cost is the same as per in-person counselling, the only difference is that it has to be prepaid. However, it has the advantage of being more flexible in terms of time availability.
Online therapy does require a good quality internet connection and a private space where you will not be overheard or interrupted.
For online counselling I use Zoom.us, it provides a good level of privacy and security, and it is simple and easy to install. Once the appointment has been booked and paid for, you will receive an email invitation with a link to the meeting. The whole process is simple and straightforward.
